A reflection on values, change, and marketing that feels real
Yesterday, on a walk, I spotted something I rarely see in my part of Connecticut anymore, a dairy cow grazing in a field. Growing up, especially on long drives to northern Maine and into Canada where my family is from, cows were everywhere. Dozens in one field, hundreds across the miles. They were part of the landscape, part of the way of life.
Seeing just one reminded me how much our world has changed. Fewer farms and fewer family operations. Fewer signs of the simple, steady work that once shaped entire communities.
Little by little, something familiar seems to be finding it's way back. Small farms, homesteads, and family-run operations are slowly reappearing. Not in the same numbers as before, but enough to remind us that the old ways still have value.
Maybe it's simpler than we think, being clear, being steady, being grounded in how we carry our work forward. Those small decisions make the work feel real, and people can sense that. It's the heart of simple marketing.

True. Life was simpler back then as well. Slower. More time. We get older we tend to reflect much much more. Nice article! And I love cows!
